Sometimes it may be time for a little change in your system. The games you want to play, may not be runable on your sytem because the graphic card does not reach the sytem req, or that your CPU could be faster, just for any user.
If your about to throw away your old computer THINK TWICE as you may could save HUNDREDS of $!!!
First of all, you might allready have an uber computer. It just have to go on rehab. You should deffinetly open your case and see inside to check your system information. What kind of graphic card slot do you have? Intel or AMD CPU socket? Perhaps you want another HDD or want to install a Blue-Ray DVD-player?
All of these things can easyli be done. All you have to do is to check your mainboard for whatever specs it has and then find out where you can buy parts for the computer. As often, you would be wise if you checked your hardware compitablity with your mainboard and the part you're buying.

If this is your case, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

What do I want to upgrade?

When people want to upgrade their system, they wonder what of their computer, and for what reason they should upgrade.
The answers are many, but simpel.

GAMERS
Gamers may want to upgrade their graphic card as it could be the most importent part for them. If you want to play many of those "HEAVY DUTY" games, you should deffinitly do it. For gamers, a graphic card with 700 Mb or more is the best option. Games like "Crysis" or "Company of heroes" run much better with a good card. I also recomend that the CPU should be solid. Intel Core 2 Extreme, is the best for gamers, but also a dream. It's expensive, but gives good value. For those with a budget to follow, a CPU with more than 2,6 Ghz clockspeed and about 6 or more Mb L2 cahce is recommended.
In case you've got a SLI suporting motherboard or a mainboard with 4870 Crossfire Compitablity, this is the best. Now you can install as many grapchic cards as you've got PCI Ex Slots. Just remember bridges!

Office
The best for them who sit alot behind a desk who want a better performing computer is to upgrade the CPU to something with more L2 Cache. It makes the whole system process things better. Other things then that and a better Networks card could be the alternate.
***Aslo, your computer may be full of documents from time to other and there is certain things you can do to still keep the speed of the computer going. First you can take a "Cleanup" of the disks:
XP: Desktop>My computer>(Rightclick at "Local disk C:">Properties...There you'll find a button called "Clean up disk"
VISTA: Type "Disk" in the startbutton to searc or do as XP.

Then you can defrag the disks. This means the machine finds the file that are spread over your system and then puts it together to gain clockspeed. NOTE: This will NOT touch your personal files like pictures, documents sound etc.
To do this:
XP: "Start-button">All programs>accessories>
